Wonderful Saturday at Home...
Today is the first Saturday we've been "at home" in a long time without "to do's" and running all over the place - it has been really nice. Yesterday was pay day so that always makes for a better weekend. Today Paul worked on his pond and is drumming up stuff for his pond maintenance side business. He's helping an older couple in Raleigh keep their pond clean and maintaned. He needs to add a UV light, chemicals and fix a few things, hopefully will make a profit. Paul's pond is coming together FINALLY...I'll post pictures soon. The only part left is the waterfall and pump. I have been around the house playing with Jacob and doing laundry, dishes, sweeping all the fun and exciting Mom stuff like that. Jacob and I slept in today till 11:15am, so nice! Paul got up bright and early to hit Lowes Home Improvement and to go to Raleigh for pond adventures. He must really love this project. Tonight we are going out with the Ramsey's to Lone Star to celebrate Jamie's graduation today. We are taking Jacob with us, hopefully he'll behave and not have crying fits and 2 year old meltdowns like he did last night in the Bonsai restaurant. I was about 5 seconds away from calling my Mom to just take him away and babysit him while we ate and collected our wits. I don't even remember eating. Such is the life of a parent though, right? So anyway, after going to Lone Star - we plan to come home and chill and watch Couples Retreat, finally found it available in the Red Box at Walgreens, I've been trying to get it for months now. We also want to see Avatar and Sherlock Holmes. Maybe next weekend. =) It's the little things that excite us these days, LOL!!! Enjoy the weather, we will be!

New Web Address
Well we changed our blog to the new tag line "Wise Family Online"...I know, very original. I have high hopes of keeping up with this "new" blog, my friends have inspired me to blog more often and let everyone know what we're up to, even though at times it's not all that exciting - sometimes it's just a good catch up tool to see what we're up to and how life is going with a little one and all our adventures!
I am very happy and relieved to have given some of our baby stuff to Kari to borrow for her baby boy. It saves us space while giving her useful items for her baby boy. I'm sure I have found even more stuff to give to her. We may use them again, but not for a while yet...give us a few years.
Jacob is still sick - hoping for a better day tomorrow. He isn't eating much and feels really bad, but I think the fever may be gone, thank goodness!!! I'll take any small steps in the right direction.
Well Jacob is in the bathtub and Daddy is batheing him so I better go and do the lotioning and teeth brushing (my nightly role)....so I will blog more later.

We love Saturdays!
Hello everyone! We have had a nice Saturday of watching college football and relaxing. We are all still trying to get well and have sore throats, so we've been lounging and sleeping quite a bit. Paul did manage to cut the grass today, it really needed it. Jacob and I played inside all day and I did 5 loads of laundry and picked up the house while he was napping this afternoon. I also got a closet and my desk cleaned out. I have to take advantage of the quiet moments I have to be productive. I think tomorrow I'll likely just take a nap when he does, I need to sleep. =) Shocker of all shockers we cooked in today for all 3 meals....no takeout and no restaurants, I know...its a miracle! LOL It was fun to be home, I guess that's a sign that we're getting old....since going out on the town is not as exciting anymore. Unfortunately I missed Kari's tupperware party today (sorry Kari....) and Sunday we're missing football with J and Cas...bummer....but hopefully we can see you all soon when we're feeling better. I have a girls night out planned this Thursday, so I look forward to that. Paul is still working, with no projected weeks off work in the near future so that is nice. Now, if we can just make it through the Oct. 5th pay reductions and the following layoffs....we'll be good. My work is going well...just really busy and lots to learn. We are getting new scheduling software, Primavera in October so we'll be testing and learning that very soon....along with learning earned value, CPI and SPI and all that fun stuff. Say prayers for me....I have been stretched really thin lately with trying to be 100% Mom, good employee, wife, daughter, friend and just doing all I have to do in a given day. It is really challenging but SO worth it. It has been hard for me to leave Jacob in daycare but he's really liking it and adjusting so fast...so that makes it easier as time goes on...if I know he's happy then I'm happy and feel better about being at work and leaving him there. I have posted a pic of him from last Friday (9/11/09) on his way to school. He's growing so fast, already 8 months old!!!

Not much new
Not much new to report...we've all been sick for the last few days. It started out as allergies, colds and then morphed into something else, not quite sure what. We have all had it. Jacob is better somewhat, just really congested. I still feel pretty bad but hopefully will be better tomorrow! I'm off work Friday so that will be another day to recoupe if I'm not 100% by then. I was hoping to get a lot of closets cleaned out and other house projects done on Friday though. Paul is working Wed - Friday this week, he was off today (Tuesday), something to do with parts not coming in until later. I just keep fingers crossed and pray that he is still employed through this next round of October layoffs, please keep us in your prayers. My hope is that he'll be able to find something else before anything happens, it's in God's hands though, we just have to be prayerful about it. Speaking of...Paul and I start our small group class this Sunday the 13th, we are taking the 5 love languages course taught by our pastor and his wife, we're pretty excited about this. We have a good group and hope to learn alot about how to communicate better and be more "in tune". Jacob continues to do well at Clayton First Baptist CDC, he has adjusted well and likes all the teachers and other babies in the class. The only hitch is he's not eating as well as he does at home, but I'm sure that will also work itself out. I think it's the fact he's not used to his bottle being warmed, we normally just do it at room temperature but we have to take the bottles already mixed so they have to stay in the fridge until time to feed. He's doing really well on solids, eating a lot. He sits up on his own completely and is VERY close to crawling. Somehow I think we're getting ready to be very busy. It is hard to believe he's 8 months old already. Time really flies when you're having fun. He goes back to the pediatrician for his 9 month check up on October 9th. I can't wait to see how much he weighs and how much he's grown in length.
I hope all of our friends and family are having great weeks!!

It has been a really fun holiday weekend so far. Friday I had to work which was a bummer and we've had colds...but that didn't stop us! Saturday I shopped at Triangle Town Center with my Mom and we had lunch at the Twisted Fork. I bought tons of "school" clothes for Jacob at Gymboree, Children's Place, Babies R Us and Pottery Barn Kids. I must admit we went a little crazy. Then Paul and I had a nice home cooked steak dinner together and drank a bottle of wine and relaxed, very nice day! Today, Sunday, we got up and did breakfast - me, Paul and Jacob - at IHOP in Garner...interesting crowd there...but the food was yummy...then we took a joy ride through the country, backroads. I took Bailey to the park on Guy and Amelia Church roads ...and exercised / walked him - so that was a great day for Bailey "Roo". Then we tailgated the Mudcats game, LOL...got some chicken tailgate specials and Lauren made pasta salad and we all contributed side items...it was us, the Ramseys and the Narrons - it was a really fun night, no kids, no worries! =) Now we back home to the quietness of a sleeping sweet baby boy - life is grand, no compliants here! =) Hope everyone's day and weekend has been as great as ours!

Decided to blog finally!!
I have decided to blog finally!! Following many of my techie friends...not much to report today. I went shopping with my mom, we did lunch and bought TONS of clothes for Jacob today. He made out like a fat rat. Then, came home and had a nice evening with hubby - we cooked steaks on the grill and drank some wine together, very nice evening. Now it's midnight and I'm doing computer stuff and going to take a shower. Nite all!!
